Keyless Entry

The proximity keyless entry feature of the Kia car lets you open the driver's door without having to pull your key fob from a pocket or bag. Simply stay within two feet of the door and press the door handle, or press the unlock button on the key fob to unlock it hands-free. This also works with the liftgate and trunk, allowing you to open them remotely while holding your Kia key fob.
A key fob's battery may get worn out over time, however, it's generally easy to identify warning indicators. Most smart key fobs will display an alert on the infotainment screen if the battery is being exhausted, giving you ample time to replace it.
Make sure that when you purchase a secondhand Kia the digital key, and the registered key card (if equipped), are linked to the settings for your profile and personalization settings in the infotainment settings menu. Your Kia key fob is more than just an ordinary piece of plastic. It's packed with hidden features that can make life easier.
First, you need to unlock the door for your driver with the MECHANICAL KEY that is in your Smart Key fob. It's located behind the door's front handle. It has a silver button you can press to reveal it. Then, you can insert the mechanical key into the lock and turn it to the left for unlocking or to the right to lock the door.
